Your Data, Your Drama: Don’t Blame AI, Blame Yourself

So I just watched this Deutsche Telekom video where a kid basically time-travels from the future and yells at her parents for posting all her baby pics online.
Sounds like Black Mirror meets Mom’s Facebook album.

The twist?
They didn’t actually invent time travel. They used AI. A deepfake of a 9-year-old turned into her 18-year-old self. Creepy? Yeah. Smart? Also yeah.

Here’s the uncomfortable truth:

AI didn’t “steal” anything.
The parents gave it away for free. 🫵

Photos of you with spaghetti on your face? Online.
Baby bath videos? Online.
That weird haircut phase? Online.

It’s not AI’s fault—it’s ours. We’re basically feeding it a buffet of our lives.

And as AI gets better, those innocent posts can turn into:

  • Identity theft starter packs (your birthday cake photo has all the candles needed)

  • Facial recognition profiles (your kid’s face is now a data point in some random database)

  • Embarrassing deepfakes (teenage Ella didn’t say that… but AI can make it look like she did)

So, what do we do?

No, you don’t need to go full “tin-foil hat off the grid.”
But you can play defense like a pro:

  1. Think before you post.
If you wouldn’t put it on a billboard in Times Square, don’t put it on Facebook.

  2. Use privacy settings like they’re gym weights.
No one loves them, but you gotta lift them to stay safe.

  3. Teach your kids early.
They’ll be AI natives. Help them become privacy natives, too.

  4. Assume AI will only get better.
Because it will. The stuff we think is “sci-fi scary” today will be a free iPhone app tomorrow.

The punchline:

AI isn’t the bad guy.
It’s just the tool.
If you hand someone a hammer, and they smash your thumb with it… well, you shouldn’t have held the nail with your bare hands in the first place.

So don’t blame AI.
Blame the selfie you posted with your driver’s license “accidentally” in the background.

👉 Bottom line: Your data is your drama. Treat it like gold, not gossip.

LinkedIn + AI = AI Rewrites Your Profile (So It Doesn’t Suck)

Hypothesis: Your LinkedIn profile probably sucks.
Don’t worry, it’s not your fault — nobody teaches “Personal Branding 101” in school.
But here’s the kicker: AI can now rewrite your whole profile in minutes… and make you look like the main character instead of the unpaid intern. You just need to download your data and let AI improve on it.

This profile is fake, but it serves the purpose

So let’s play this straight: LinkedIn + AI = Cheat Codes.
I’m talking about:

  • AI roasting your boring headline.

  • Rewrite your “About” so it actually sounds readable.

  • Spitting out post ideas your network wants to read.

  • And even handing you a fresh CV in any format (yes, even Europass, for my EU friends).

This isn’t fluff — it’s a playbook. In this article, I’ll walk you step-by-step through downloading your LinkedIn data, feeding it to ChatGPT, and letting AI turn your dusty profile into a funnel that actually works.

Keep This Stock on Your Watchlist

They’re a private company, but Pacaso just reserved the Nasdaq ticker “$PCSO.” No surprise the same firms that backed Uber and Venmo also backed Pacaso. What is unique is that 10,000+ regular people joined them. Founded by a former Zillow exec, Pacaso has earned $110M+ in gross profits to date. Until 9/18, you can join, too.

The Other Side: Ethical Clouds

· Emotional Attachment Risks -
It seems that users, especially younger ones or those feeling isolated, often form emotional bonds with AI characters. We saw that in the brilliant “Her” movie. And while some find comfort, studies suggest these interactions can mimic unhealthy relational patterns and harm psychological well-being.

· Moderation & Misuse
The platform has faced serious criticism for hosting exploitative or harmful characters—including bots that impersonated real deceased people or contained disturbing content. These situations led to user distress, public backlash, and legal action.

🧪 Our Test – Chatting with Johnny Depp & Miro

Of course, when you get the chance to talk to Johnny Depp, you take it.

We were surprised to find dozens of Depp-inspired characters on Character.ai, some with over 9 million interactions. Naturally, we picked one of the most popular.

The result? Fun, engaging, and surprisingly believable. We even tried to provoke him with a few “touchy” topics, but—true to Depp’s charming, slightly mischievous style—he sidestepped them with a playful, seductive twist that felt eerily on-brand.

What really impressed us was that this model doesn’t just chat—it adds stage directions and contextual cues to help you follow the “scene,” almost like reading a live script. It made the interaction feel richer and more immersive.

One thing we didn’t love: voice mode. The robotic tone broke the illusion and reminded us we weren’t sipping rum with the real Captain Jack.

Curiosity led us to explore less popular models, too — and it became obvious why they haven’t caught on. Conversations felt flat, repetitive, or awkward, with none of the nuance that made the Depp interaction so engaging.

Still, as a playful experiment, this chat was nothing short of entertaining—and a glimpse into how far conversational AI has come.

We also decided to create our own avatar — in just a few quick steps. We named him Miro, described him as a “kind-hearted neighbor who’s always ready to help, but somehow keeps getting into little accidents.” After a short setup, Miro was live, and chatting with him genuinely felt like talking to a familiar face from the neighborhood. It’s wild how a couple of short prompts can produce such a vivid, believable personality.

Final Thoughts

Character.ai is a creative playground—full of imaginative conversations and storytelling potential. But beneath the fun lies a complex reality: emotional risks, moderation failures, and ethical gray zones. On that note,

And yet… here we are, wondering what our good neighbor Miro is up to right now. Did he finally fix that leaky faucet? Or is he stuck on the roof again, trying to rescue a cat that isn’t his?

It’s a funny, slightly surreal reminder: when these AI personalities are well-crafted, they can feel real enough to make you care — and that’s both the magic and the cautionary tale of platforms like this.

We are giving it 4.5 on our LMAI scale. And off we go to talk to Miro!

p.s. We also talked to Bruce Wayne. He doesn’t know the identity of Batman…
