Hi fam!

One of the most interesting things about AI right now isn't what it can do.

It's where the friction is starting to appear.

AI models are becoming more capable, AI agents are getting smarter, and companies are investing billions into the infrastructure behind it all. At the same time, many users are discovering that getting the result you want isn't always as simple as it used to be.

This week, we're looking at some of the latest AI developments, a practical prompt you can use today, and a growing debate about whether AI is becoming a little too careful for its own good.

The future of AI feels Like Magic, and it’s here!

The AI world never sits still for long.

Over the past few days, we've seen new developments across technology, business, education, and security—offering another reminder that AI is no longer just a tool. It's becoming part of the systems, decisions, and industries that shape everyday life.

  • A major data leak has exposed members of Dialog, a private invitation-only network co-founded by billionaire investor Peter Thiel. The leaked records reportedly reveal more than 200 members from politics, technology, finance, media, and academia, offering a rare glimpse into one of Silicon Valley's most secretive communities.

Why this matters: As AI becomes increasingly influential, the people shaping its future matter just as much as the technology itself.

  • Chinese universities have reportedly suspended or removed more than 12,000 degree programs over the past several years while introducing thousands of new programs focused on AI, robotics, semiconductors, and other emerging technologies.

Why this matters: Countries are no longer just investing in AI tools. They're redesigning education systems to prepare the next generation of workers.

  • NVIDIA announced that 35 new AI supercomputers are being built across Europe, supporting researchers, universities, healthcare institutions, and businesses across the continent. The projects are part of a broader effort to strengthen Europe's AI capabilities and reduce dependence on foreign infrastructure.

Why this matters: Most AI headlines focus on chatbots and models, but the real race is increasingly about computing power. Countries that control AI infrastructure may gain a significant advantage in the years ahead.

  • L'Oréal has integrated Maybelline's virtual makeup try-on experience into ChatGPT, allowing users to test products digitally through AI-powered conversations before making a purchase.

Why this matters: We're starting to see AI move beyond productivity tools and into everyday consumer experiences. Shopping, beauty, travel, and entertainment may become some of the biggest AI categories over the next few years.

  • OpenAI has announced a new initiative called Patch the Planet, designed to help open-source developers find and fix security vulnerabilities using AI. The program combines OpenAI's security tools with human experts from cybersecurity firm Trail of Bits to identify bugs before they can be exploited.

Why this matters: AI is often associated with creating code, but it may become just as important for securing it. As software grows more complex, AI could help developers find vulnerabilities faster than traditional methods.

The Copy Success Prompt

We often assume every problem needs a completely original solution.

It usually doesn't.

The next time you're stuck, try asking AI:

"Who has already solved a similar problem, and what can I learn from them?"

For example:

"I want to grow a newsletter. Who has already solved a similar problem, and what can I learn from them?"

Or:

"I want to launch a successful online course. Who has already done this well, and what can I learn from their approach?"

Or:

"I want to improve customer support. Which companies are known for doing this exceptionally well?"

The goal isn't to copy someone else's work.

It's to learn from proven ideas instead of starting from a blank page.

Most successful businesses, products, and creators didn't invent everything from scratch. They borrowed what worked, adapted it to their situation, and improved it.

AI can help you find those examples in seconds.

Because sometimes the smartest question isn't:

"What should I do?"

It's:

"Who's already figured this out?"

And what can I learn from them? 🚀

Is AI Becoming Too Careful?

Have you ever asked AI to do something completely reasonable, only to be told it violates the rules?

Lately, more users have been running into a strange problem: harmless requests that get rejected for reasons that don't always make sense.

A few days ago, I tried generating an image of three moms relaxing on a beach and enjoying cocktails. Rejected. Apparently, that crossed a line.

Adding two words fixed everything:

"non-alcoholic cocktails."

Suddenly, the request was perfectly acceptable.

The moms were the same. The beach was the same. The image was the same. The only thing that changed was the AI's interpretation of the word cocktail.

And that's where things start to get interesting.

This week we're looking at the growing tension between AI safety and usability. Why are harmless requests sometimes getting blocked? Why do AI companies seem increasingly cautious? And at what point does protecting users start getting in the way of common sense?

Because if AI can write code, explain quantum physics, and summarize research papers, surely it should be able to tell the difference between dangerous content and three moms having a drink on the beach.

From the Archives: Exploring the Ethics of AI and Robotics in Society

Back in 2024, one of the biggest questions surrounding AI wasn't what it could do, but what it should do.

As AI systems became more capable and robots moved from science fiction into the real world, discussions about ethics, responsibility, privacy, and human oversight started moving into the mainstream.

Two years later, those questions feel even more relevant.

Today we're debating AI safety, misinformation, autonomous agents, copyright, surveillance, and the role AI should play in critical decisions. The technology has advanced remarkably fast, but many of the ethical questions we were asking in 2024 are still very much unresolved.

If anything, they've become more urgent.
