Hi fam!

Apparently, “I only changed a few things” is still one of the most dangerous sentences in office life. 😅

Today, we're looking at a simple way to stop manually comparing files, plus a clever prompt that makes AI question its own confident answers. And, as always, we've got fresh AI news, useful tools, and an old favorite from the archive worth another look.

The future of AI feels Like Magic, and it’s here!

New models, robotaxis, specialized AI, and agents that increasingly act on our behalf. Here are five AI developments that caught our attention.

  • Google has introduced Gemini 3.7 Flash, a new version of its fast AI model with a particular focus on coding and agentic workflows. The model improves tasks such as debugging and building functional applications while remaining optimized for speed and lower operating costs.

Why this matters: The AI race isn't only about building the biggest and smartest model anymore. Businesses increasingly need models that are fast, capable, and cheap enough to run thousands of times a day.

  • DeepSeek has officially launched V4 Pro, its latest flagship model, continuing its push to compete with leading AI models while maintaining a strong focus on performance and cost.

Interestingly, DeepSeek is also raising API prices for V4 Pro and V4 Flash—a notable shift for a company that built much of its reputation on dramatically cheaper AI.

Why this matters: DeepSeek helped trigger an AI price war. Now it's discovering the other side of that equation: powerful AI is expensive to run, even when your brand was built around being cheaper.

  • Apple has reportedly been training a dedicated large language model for the Chinese market, with support from Alibaba. Regulatory requirements mean Apple's global AI systems can't simply be offered to Chinese users under the same conditions.

Why this matters: We may be heading toward a world where the same phone comes with fundamentally different AI depending on where you live. AI is becoming global technology built around increasingly local rules.

  • Uber and China's Pony.ai have announced plans to deploy more than 2,000 robotaxis across European markets over the next few years. Pony.ai will provide the autonomous driving technology and vehicles, while Uber will integrate the rides into its platform.

Why this matters: Robotaxis are slowly moving from impressive demonstrations to something ordinary people may actually encounter when opening a ride-hailing app. Europe could become one of the next major testing grounds.

  • Okta is introducing new security controls designed to limit the access AI agents receive through Model Context Protocol (MCP) connections. The goal is to prevent an agent from automatically gaining broad access to data and tools when it only needs permission for one specific task.

Why this matters: We're giving AI agents access to emails, files, databases, and business software. The next security challenge isn't simply “Who is this user?” but “What exactly should this AI agent be allowed to do on their behalf?”

The “What Would Change Your Answer?” Trick

AI has opinions. Very confident opinions. Right up until you give it one extra piece of information and it confidently develops a completely different opinion. 😄

This trick helps you uncover what AI’s recommendation actually depends on—and which missing details could completely change its answer.

Simply ask:

What new information would make you change your answer?

It’s surprisingly powerful because it forces AI to reveal what its recommendation actually depends on.

Imagine you ask AI whether your company should switch to a new project management tool. It recommends Tool A. Instead of immediately signing up, ask:

What new information about my company, team, or workflow would make you change this recommendation?

Suddenly, you might discover that the answer changes if your team has more than 20 people, if you need specific integrations, if your budget is lower, or if most employees work remotely.

You can make it even more useful:

What are the three pieces of information most likely to change your recommendation? If I answer them, reassess your original answer.

Now AI isn’t just giving you an answer—it’s helping you understand how fragile that answer is.

Because sometimes the most useful thing AI can tell you isn't “Here's what I think.”

It's “Here's what would make me think differently.”

Stop Playing Spot the Difference With Your Files

Someone sends you FINAL_v4 and FINAL_v5 with the reassuring message: “I only changed a few things.”

Great. Now you just need to figure out which few things without rereading the entire document.

That's where Diffchecker comes in. Upload or paste both versions and it highlights exactly what was added, removed, or changed. It works with text, PDFs, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and even images—making it useful for everything from client proposals and reports to spreadsheets and design revisions.

And you can take it one step further: once Diffchecker finds the changes, give the important ones to AI and ask it to explain which changes actually affect the message, price, deadline, responsibilities, or final outcome.

Two tools, two jobs: Diffchecker finds what changed. AI helps you understand what matters.

Because “I only changed a few things” should never mean “please reread the entire document.”

From the Archive: Can AI Translate the Whole Document?

Copy. Paste. Translate. Copy back. Fix the formatting. Repeat for the next 37 pages.

Or… just translate the entire file.

In this archive pick, we looked at whether AI can handle complete Word documents, PDFs, and PowerPoint presentations without the usual copy-paste marathon.

If you regularly work with documents in multiple languages—or simply have a file you'd rather not translate paragraph by paragraph—this one is worth revisiting.
